September 2012 : Virgin Media
A team of six staff volunteers from Virgin Media Hook office spent all day in Coldstream Marsh tackling the excessive growth of alder and sallow scrub that threatens to dry out the marsh to the detriment of the diversity of marsh flora.
It was a hot sticky day and although the team had intended to work through from 9.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. they were well and truly exhausted by 2.30.
Leader for the day, Colin Gray, Chairman of FPS, took them down to Sandy Bay to cool them off before they set off home.
Colin said “The team worked extremely hard and showed great enthusiasm to clear as much as they could manage given the very hot, sticky day. FPS is very pleased with the result and we hope to see Virgin Media back one day”.
